We would first like to say thank you to all our friends and family for the continued love and support over the past 3 and ½ years of our relationship. It means so much to have you apart of our lives and included in the excitement of our upcoming wedding day! We’ve made a few changes to the wedding website and have even added a gift registry which we hope will work well for us given our unique travel situation. Although there is plenty of time before the wedding, we will continue to update you of any changes in our upcoming plans through the website and thank you again for checking it out!
As many of you already now, Daniel and Jess met in Perth, Australia while Jess was studying abroad her Junior year from UMD. We began hanging out together by going to movies, the beach, having bbq's, and going to church together. We started dating on April 8, 2004 and look forward to celebrating our 4 year anniversary in April!
Our wedding ceremony will take place in Jess’s home church, Shepherd of the Valley Lutheran Church, on Saturday, July 19th, 2008 at 2:00 P.M. The address of the church is: 12650 Johnny Cake Ridge Road, Apple Valley MN 55124 and is approximately a 5 minute drive from the Ofstedahl home.
Between the ceremony and reception, guests may feel free to make their way to Nicollet Mall in Minneapolis where the reception will be held. At this outdoor mall, there are plenty of shops, cafes, and coffee shops to keep busy, which is located in the middle of the city. We recommend you take a chance to take in the sights of Minneapolis as there is plenty to see and do! We do believe that guest will have the option to return to the Ofstedahl home for refreshments if they prefer that instead.
The reception will be located at Millennium Hotel in Minneapolis. The exact address is 1313 Nicollet Mall, Minneapolis. It is located in the Dome and Horizon Rooms which are located on the 14th floor and have incredible views of the city skyline. Cocktail hour will begin at 5:00 P.M. in the Dome room followed by music, dancing, and food in the Horizon room. We haven’t finalized anything with the menu yet, but we are hoping to have stations set up filled with Mediterranean cuisine such as an assortment of cheeses, wine, olive oils and breads, antipasto, etc., and some rich Italian specialties. This most likely won’t be a sit-down meal because you will want to be moving around to all the stations and tasting the food!
We are doing the best we can to accommodate our entire out of town guests with easy transportation and accommodation while you are here visiting/attending the wedding. We have reserved 20 rooms at the Millennium Hotel for Saturday night if you would like to spend the night at the hotel. Please make reservations (under our name) no later than one month prior to the wedding, as the hotel will release the rooms to the public after this. Keep in mind there is a parking ramp attached to the hotel if you would like to drive yourself to the reception/keep your car overnight. Unfortunately there will be a small fee for this!!
Also, a lot of overseas guests who are flying in a week before the wedding are staying at AmericInn in Apple Valley. We have reserved 15 rooms for the entire week leading up to the wedding, so please let us know if you would like to stay here and we will help set you up!
For you Aussies coming over, the best way to get around would be to rent a car, although we are still trying to figure out some ways to shuttle large numbers around the metro area!
