How we met: Our mother's set us up on a blind date that lasted for 12 hours!
How we got engaged: We went for a nice dinner at Ruth Chris' Steakhouse in Minneapolis and then returned to Jimmy's house. He had a bouquet of roses and had some candles lit to set the perfect romantic mood. On the bed he had a teddy bear with a red box, a chocolate rose and a hand made card. The teddy bear's box held some candy...not the ring. Within the hand made card Jimmy had written a message to me (not unlike other Valentine's Day celebrations) and within the note he had written out "Will You Marry Me?" with one word on each page standing out of the normal text because it was spelled out with stickers. I didn't catch on at first and he had to tell me to read it again paying close attention to what the stickers spelled out. I got about half way through when I realized what was going on. I looked over at Jimmy and he was down on one knee and before he could get all the way through, I was already crying and knodding my head frantically 'yes!'
Wedding attire will be semi-casual. There is no need to wear a formal tuxedo, but a nice shirt and slacks for the guys, and a nice shirt and skirt / pants or dress for the girls will be just fine. Just make sure that whatever you wear will be comfortable to dance in as there will be plenty of that as the night proceeds!!
