Many of you have heard this story before, but for those of you who haven't I think it's a story worth telling. Then again I might be biased. Colby and I met in a program called Master's Commision, we were working with churches along both sides of the border of Mexico. At first we didn't talk much, or more realisticly we avioded one another like the plague. I considered him to be an arrogant, show-offy, know-it-all, even if he was cute. Sufice to say he didn't have the best opinion of me either. Living in such cramped quaters a confrontation was inevitable, and it happened about mid-way through the year. We yelled and fought and eventually forgot what we were so mad about, I guess that's how great friendships happen. After that we became inseperatable, he was and continues to be my best friend. We started dating during our summer vacation. Then we were forbidden from speaking to one another for several months, then we ran away together. Then he moved to Arkansas for half a year, and finally came back to Houston where he proposed. I could go more in depth but I'm running out of room to type and I think it's enough to say that we've had an exciting journey to get to where we are now. Currently we are happier than ever. I could not imagine life without him. He is helping me finish school. I hope to have a bachelor's in Mathmatics in two more years. While I'm doing my best to support him in every way possible. I thank God every day for blessing me with this wonderful man who admits I'm flawed, but still thinks he's the lucky one.
Our wedding is being held at the Admiral on Clear Lake, on Sunday June 6th, 2010. We haven't decided on an exact time yet, although it will definitly be in the evening, probably around 6 or 7ish. The attire will be Sunday-casual. I know that's not really an attire standard, but it's the best way I can describe it. Think Sunday church clothes, but at a laid-back church. Dress shirts with blue jeans, summer dresses, that kind of thing. I would say buissness casual, but that sounds so buissness, and were really hoping to make this a fun party for everyone!
The reception will be held at the same location immediatly following the ceremony. We will be serving a full dinner, Cajun style! Kids are welcome, we hope to have entertainment speciffically for the kids, but we cannot be sure about it at this time. Cocktails will be served at no cost to our guests, After Dinner. There is a lit balcony wrapping around the entire facility which overlooks the lake we hope all our guest will enjoy taking advatage of the spectacular veiw.
We just wanted to take this opportunity to thank everyone for being a part of our lives which we can't wait to celebrate with all of our friends and family. We are so happy that all of you who have played so many different roles in our lives are coming to witness what we believe to be the best decision either of us has ever made. Thank you again and we can't wait to see you there.
