We first met in June 2007. Amanda had just moved to Des Moines that day. We were both at Miss Kitty's Dance Hall. I was at a friends bachelor party and Amanda was out with friends from work. We kept catching each other's eyes from across the room. I finally got the courage to ask her to dance. After one song her friends were ready to leave and the next thing I knew she was gone. I decided I had to find her so I could see her again. After searching the room I found her before she left. We met a few days later for what was supposed to be just lunch. We ended up spending the day and evening together. At the end of the night we kissed goodnight. From that moment on we began to spend as much time together as possible. By August we had begun to get serious. Since then we both have fallen head over heels in love and haven't looked back. One year later we moved in to a townhome in Ankeny with our dog Mugsy. On July 13th I came home late and told Amanda I had a surprise for her. I told her to close her eyes and I led her into the kitchen, when she opened her eyes there was a bottle of champagne and two glasses on the table. When she turned around to thank me I was down on one knee ready to ask her to marry me. After realizing I was serious she said yes and we have been planning ever since.
Our Wedding is at 2:30pm at New Hope Methodist Chruch in Beaverdale, IA on June 13th, 2009. Beaverdale is in Des Moines.
Our reception starts at 4:30 p.m. at the Downtown Des Moines Marriott. There will be open bar and cocktail hour from 4:30-5:30. We will arrive around 5:30 with the wedding party and dinner will be served around 6:00 or 6:30. We will be having a sit down dinner with cake to follow. Upon our arrival we will have a cash bar. We have a fantastic DJ that will help us to dance the night away. The Marriott is about 20 minutes from the church depending on traffic. They have valet parking for $14. This fee allows you to get your car as many times as needed, you are only charged once. There is also public parking garages across the street as well as street parking. There are rooms blocked at the Downtown Marriott for Friday and Saturday night at a $99 discounted rate. We have also blocked rooms up the street at Quality Inn and Suites for Saturday at a rate of $84.95. Quality Inn and Suits is right off I-235 and 3 minutes from the Marriott.
