When they first met, Dan lived in Port Charlotte and April lived in Sarasota. The two cities are about an hour apart from eachother. After spending many miles on the road back and forth and back and forth, Dan asked April "Can I keep you?" It was shortly after that when April decided to make Port Charlotte her home.
One weekend Dan took April with him to the jewelry store in Ft. Myers to try on engagment rings and decided to buy her one right there on the spot. He got down on one knee and held up the ring. The store clerks were so impressed with Dan's spontaneousness that they burned a DVD of the proposal from their store's video surveillance tape. It's only about a minute long, in black & white, and there's no volume, but still it is very special.
The wedding will be at Colonial Oaks Baptist Church which is located in Sarasota, Florida. This location was chosen as the ceremony site because April's parents were married at this church facility long before it became Colonial Oaks Baptist Church. Also, April was attending this church with her Mom before she moved to Port Charlotte.
A semi-formal wedding is planned and approximately 100 guests are expected attend the ceremony, although the church sanctuary is capable of holding atleast three times that many people just in case everyone who was invited shows up.
The church is pretty easy to find. It is about one minute east of interstate 75 on Bee Ridge Road. Proceed through the main entrance of the church and the santuary will be straight ahead.
The reception will also be held at the church and will most likely begin around 3:30pm, since the ceremony is scheduled to begin at 2:00pm. The guest book will be set up at the entrance to the reception hall. Don't forget to sign it! Food will be served buffet style and guests may choose to sit wherever they feel comfortable.

Don't forget to tell them you are in town for our wedding and ask for the wedding rate upon booking a room. Book your rooms early because they fill up fast. Each room is equiped with a full kitchen. There is a shopping mall about a mile away. Hibiscus Suites is located minutes away from Sarasota's finest beaches and is about 20 minutes from the ceremony/reception site.
